Welding students were treated to a day of crane lifting and rigging training on April 29, conducted by guest speakers Rusty Lewis and Jonathan Letort from Ingalls Shipbuilding, which sponsored the training. Among the topics covered were safety when doing crane lifts, proper rigging of large loads, and calculation of strap angles in lifting. The welding students even got to learn a few different rope knots used in lifting lines.
